Social Inclusion

We ensure social inclusion as the only way for diversity and equal opportunities

One of the priorities of the Can Cet Foundation is to continue to ensure the social inclusion of people with functional diversity and/or at risk of social exclusion, following the main objective that the Can Cet social enterprise has been working towards since 1995.

The Foundation tackles its commitment to these people holistically, considering the different areas of each person and supporting their development so that they can achieve a feeling of wellbeing, happiness and real satisfaction.

Promoting hiring people with functional diversity and/or risk of social exclusion

Through promotion and awareness campaigns on the rights of these groups and corporate obligations regarding inclusion, the Can Cet Foundation promotes job placement schemes for individuals, as well as professional development and recognition of talent. We offer support and advice on preparing a good CV, provide people with a short how-to guide, and offer resources and guidance on how to perform well at job interviews.

Advice and support for social clubs and special employment centres

The Can Cet Foundation provides personnel and material support to special employment centres and promotes the establishment of new centres for the employment of people with functional diversity and/or at risk of social exclusion. Likewise, it establishes agreements with social clubs to help motivate and encourage people with mental health problems to carry out different activities.

Development of training and educational projects

Through cooperation projects in Spain and overseas, the Foundation works for professional development and personal growth in both the education and training fields. We have signed an agreement with Balmes Innova for training in the cleaning sector to train people with functional diversity and those at risk of social exclusion alike.

Consideration for people’s overall wellbeing

We work on offering leisure activities for people with functional diversity and mental health problems, such as excursions around Catalonia and different inclusive activities. These outings help people develop their overall wellbeing by feeling part of a group, getting in touch with nature and practising sports with races and walks around the city of Barcelona. We also organise reading clubs to help promote this hobby and occupy people’s free time.

The Can Cet Foundation is strongly committed to increasing the practice of meditation worldwide as a method for self-knowledge, personal growth and spiritual development, which is why it wishes to bring techniques of self-knowledge, introspection and personal growth to groups at risk of social exclusion.

Promotion of new projects related to the foundational principles

At Can Cet Foundation we provide support and encourage the emergence of innovative and entrepreneurial projects, as well as start-ups or newly created companies that work to promote ideas and principles of social inclusion, diversity, solidarity and equality, as well as other foundational values.

Communication, dissemination and organisation of awards, scholarships, seminars and other similar activities

The Can Cet Foundation signs collaboration agreements to promote projects and social initiatives in favour of people with functional diversity and/or at risk of social exclusion, and works to add visibility to problems related to the foundational values and mission, such as international days of disability, multiple sclerosis, mental health, suicide prevention, etc. Increasing social awareness and disseminating information about these issues helps society to understand and empathise with different groups.

The Can Cet Foundation has the recent support and commitment of two people recognized socially for their professional and personal merits to whom it has granted the distinction of Ambassadors: the renowned creative and pastry chef Christian Escribà and the internationally renowned dancer, Cesc Gelabert. Escribà and Gelabert joined the last meeting of the Can Cet Foundation Board of Trustees, held last September in Sant Esteve de Palautordera. A group of people with functional diversity visits KMC Barcelona

On 7 May 2022, the Can Cet Foundation, in collaboration with the Barcelona KMC, a Kadampa meditation centre located in Sant Salvador de Guardiola, near the Montserrat mountain, organised an activity for a group of 70 people. Most of them had functional diversity and were users of the La Ginesta Social Club or the Relat’t Social Club, but there were also professionals from the Can Cet social enterprise. This excursion to the meditation centre enabled participants to enjoy a relaxing day in the heart of nature. After a vegetarian brunch served by KMC Barcelona volunteers, they took part in a meditation workshop
